I wonder how many OUT OF WORK Conservatives are gonna not go in to, uh, wait..

Not go in to work?? The next day unemployment would be UP, a lot of businesses will be looking for new employees, this is a target rich environment. Folks are desperate for jobs.

I am not at all convinced that *calling in conservative* is a good thing, UNLESS, those that do, actually take to the streets in a concerted effort and massive PUBLIC protest.

If anyone thinks *calling in conservative* and then sitting on their fat asses at home is an effective protest, they need their heads examined.

Look, if you’re going to protest, do it right, GET SOME ATTENTION!! Take it to the streets! Between now and July 30th you have plenty of time to organize. Get LOUD, get LARGE, get MEDIA coverage and by God, have a real PROTEST!

If you want to stay home and have a cozy little day with family and friends, OK, that’s great, do it, but don’t call it a PROTEST, unless that day with family and friends is spent in OPEN protest.

Sheesh, talk about sounding like a bunch of libber tree huggers.

Nick- I would call this more of a protest strike than a boycott.

This President and Congress have lain the groundwork for dismantling capitalism and harming the average American beyond belief, and the insidious part is that much of the damage will be inflicted until after the next election cycles! This is one call, for a relatively simple action that calls attention to the overall plight of a government acting out of control and taking advantage of an ignorance that exists out there! Calling attention to their heinous actions is a good thing, so I support this day of Going Galt! This hardly represents a waste of our energies! This is a protest, we are protesting in many different ways, read the numerous links available here on just this one blog. this whole blog is here as a protest and to aid those seeking information!

While I understand the sentiment behind this call to action, I don't think this is the best use of our energies. Boycotts are rarely influential and the effects are negligible. Just look at what the GLBT community tried in California after Proposition 8 passed--lots of consolation among those that participated, but no lasting results.
