Message from Rob McKenna-Tax Day Rally

Can you believe it? “We don’t care what happened in the last election.”

That’s right, it’s less than six months since the historic 2010 election, and already the far-left protestors screaming for media attention are pretending it didn’t happen.

In fact, one hard-core tax-and-spend advocate summed up their position succinctly at last week’s protests in Olympia: “We don’t care what happened in the last election.”

Don’t you think that the message voters sent last year was clear enough?

Last fall, voters in our state resoundingly rejected a state income tax and repealed new taxes on candy, bottled water and other items. At the same time they passed, yet again, a 2/3 majority rule for passing tax increases, a measure that majority Democrats have repeatedly ignored and repealed.

No, that message should be clear enough, even for a screaming protester.

Washington voters rejected tax hikes on struggling families and told the Olympia crowd – Make do with the taxes you already take!

It’s not that far-left extremists, some of whom were arrested storming the governor’s office in the capitol last week, didn’t hear that message. They just don’t like it and think your elected officials should ignore it.

And that’s why the mob was cheering when they heard “We don’t care what happened in the last election.”

Now that’s a pretty galling statement. The far-left position is that everything the voters said last year should be ignored, and they made their voices loud and clear in Olympia last week. They received the media attention they wanted.

Unfortunately, average taxpayers don’t necessarily have the time to drive down to Olympia and encourage legislators to hold the line on taxes. They have families to raise, jobs to do and businesses to keep afloat.

So, I do want you to know about one opportunity, perhaps a little closer to your home, where you can make your voice heard. Tomorrow, April 15, I’ll be speaking at Bellevue City Hall to the Tax Day Rally 2011 at 11:00 a.m. It will be a great event where we celebrate our state and stand up for the majority of people who DO care what happened in the last election.

I hope to see you there.

All the best,

Rob McKenna

July 17th Action Alert: Seattle Sons and Daughters of Liberty

Friday is important!

We need to show up in numbers to let it be known that Government Health Care is a sick idea!

Here is Liberty Belle’s Action Alert!

Email not displaying correctly? View it in your browser.
Fight Government Run Health Care!

When: Friday, July 17th
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
Where: Every WA State Representative and Senator’s office across the state

“We the People” must send this message to Congress: millions of us, across the country, taking it to the streets in a simultaneous protest against the mighty effort to deprive us of our right to determine our own health care choices.

From Florida to Washington, from Maine to California, from Alaska to Hawaii and everywhere in between you and thousands of other Tea Party Patriots will assemble together outside the offices of those who are elected to represent us, and make our voices heard once again.

We need you and anyone else you can bring in order to achieve our goal of having massive numbers to make our point outside every single district office in the country. Take 1 hour off of work on July 17th to show up and speak out.

You need to find the WA State Representative or Senator nearest to you, so please visit Tea Party WA where you will find a comprehensive list of office locations as well as other information. To RSVP please go here.

Bring signs and letters to give to your Representative or Senator. There will be no formal agenda, no speakers, no sound systems. Just citizens fighting the Goliath sized government with their bare hands. We need every body available! If you absolutely cannot make it, please fax your letter or call during that same time period.

Keep in mind that we are the only ones fighting the massive army of Organizing for America (Obama’s activists from the campaign), who are currently working day and night to support a government run health care system. Check out their event search page to see how many events they are planning in your neighborhood! There are a lot, and that means we need to fight harder!!

Never stop fighting.

In liberty,

Liberty Belle

Tea Party Movement flexing its muscles

Over at Tea Party Nation a fellow member and online friend Mark Herr led his local organization The Midsouth Tea Party in another counter demonstration against the Move-on.org Public Health crowd in Memphis,  outside of Tennessee’s Senator Corker’s office! The “move-on crowd” looked stunned to see and hear them there, and it seems that the Senators people were forced to address both sides of the issue (which was not the plan the libs had in mind) for their sponsored event!  Here is  a preliminary account from Mark below-

Hi all, just a small update…WE, the MSTP, crashed MoveOn.org’s attempt to persuade Senator Corker’s vote on GRHC (Gov’t Ruined Health Care) Act of 2009.  They were not expecting us to be there…and WE showed up!!!  There was a cordial, yet spirited debate on the facts…Eventually, WE could sign a letter to the Senator either supporting or rejecting GRHC.
Afterwards, The MSTP CMTE approached the spokesman for the Pro-GRHC crowd to coordinate a community based forum by which WE could all voice OUR opinions on the subject…”

It is very ironic that a lot of these union members and the politicians themselves would not be subjected to the very health care reforms they are attempting to impose on the rest of us!

American Thinker relays similar accounts from around the country at these staged events.

The extent of Media Bias realized and increasingly resented

Nashville Revival Rally July 2nd, 2009

Photos from “America’s Tea party” in Dallas at Southfork Ranch

If you are among the 100,000’s that attended a tea party this past weekend chances are you did so without any of those pesky propagandists (formally known as journalists) around trying to get you to say something good about our government these days.

I think they may just be  following that old adage “If you don’t have anything nice to say; than don’t say anything at all!

Maybe they are just too embarrassed to show up to see what normal Americans think!

Too bad, they missed a lot.

Funny though, nobody seemed to miss them! The stories and photos are being posted!

They missed hearing how we know our founders got it right.  They missed hearing that people know the difference between a constitutional republic and what the Democrats try and instill every time they gain any power!

They missed that we acknowledge a higher power grants mankind  natural rights and governments should only exist to preserve and protect those rights!

They missed how we respect the words in our Pledge of Allegiance, National Anthem, Declaration of Independence and in our Constitution.

They missed how we honor our fallen and respect our veterans.

Nor were they there to hear the stories of those who have escaped to America from elsewhere and know this to be the best country on earth because of our freedom.

Thank you my fellow American, my “right winged extremists” friends, or as Obama like to call us all- “special interests”!

From what I witnessed at the tea party I attended it is true…we do have a “special interest”, keeping America free and our liberty intact while having those values pass on to future generations.

It’s the biggest story there is out there, record numbers of Americans standing up for what they believe in!

Old Fashioned Independence Day in America on Mercer Island

Independence Day celebrations and tea party events going on today.  I took my 12 year old son to the one at Luther Burbank Park on Mercer Island and sponsored by the Conservative Enthusiasts .  Great time, and my son even got into it as our photographer!

LB 4th of July 064

We had  many great speakers, and some great music,  under perfect sunny skies.  The amphitheater faces grassy hillsides with several trees providing shade and made for a very comfortable and relaxing venue for watching the events of the day.  The “Old Fashioned  4th of July” reminded us of the true nature of our country, and our duty to preserve and protect our freedoms and liberty,  on the day that honors the birth of the greatest nation on earth, America.  A bald eagle, symbol of America,  actually appeared out of nowhere and soared low across the crowd an hour into the events, how appropriate his brief appearance was!

Beren intro

4th of July LB at Rally

Steve Beren introduced Keli Carunder or Liberty Belle as we all know her, as the very first person to get together some people and protest the outrageous spending going on under this administration and went on to elaborate on how Keli epitomizes what an activist can be and has been an exemplary example for us. Keli is definitely a person with the courage of her convictions- and is a leader.  I hope to see her take the steps necessary to run for office herself one day.

I was finally able to meet some of the folks I have been communicating with over these past few months and received some great complements about this blog.  This was good to hear as this blog is here to help.

Some of the highlights included fantastic speeches by Keli Carender, Cheryl Haskins, Luke Esser, and Col Pham.

One common thread was this- if you don’t appreciate it,  if you don’t stand on principles, and if you do not fight for your freedom someone will take it away. This Obama administration and his liberal followers are trying their best to do just that!

The music and tributes to our fallen warriors and veterans were special, especially when Sarge Lawrence had the vets come down out of the crowd and sang “I praise the Vet” and “Thanks to Them“.

LB 4th of July 086

There were more great songs and music from Voices of Freedom and Garret Lloyd King

We also heard from conservative candidates like David Castillo and Steve Beren.

I thought about the administrations efforts to paint a picture of all these great decent folks as potential domestic terrorists, I thought just how opposite that is from the truth, these are people that truly love our country and would never apologize for being a part of it!

I had to leave a bit early so I can’t report on the last part of the event,  but I can say I look forward to the next one!

Keli aka Liberty Belle distributed flier’s announcing the call for a simultaneous nationwide protest against the plan to nationalize Health Care to be held @ 9 am on July 17th outside all Senate and Representatives offices.

I added the upcoming event on Tea Party Nation events .
