The Ugly Usurpation

There are two types of power in government. One type is based on trust and is delegated…the other is just assumed.

“A constitution is not the act of a government, but of a people constituting a government; and government without a constitution is power without a right. All power exercised over a nation, must have some beginning. It must be either delegated, or assumed. There are not other sources. All delegated power is trust, and all assumed power is usurpation.
Time does not alter the nature and quality of either. ~Thomas Paine, Rights of Man [1791-1792].

Obamacare is a case of assumed power, not legitimate law, and regardless of what five misguided justices recently opined, our Constitution clearly forbids the federal government from assuming power from the people.

Obamacare Public Option

Obamacare Public Option

This article was received via e-mail from Small Business Against Big Government.

Last week I attended a luncheon with some other small business people to hear the Arizona State Treasurer address Arizona’s private and public economic status.  The Treasurer pulled no punches. The state legislature is deadlocked over the budget and barring either immediate spending cuts or an immediate tax increase the state is 30-60 days away from being out of money.

Arizonians were sold a bill of goods involving the big tobacco settlement from 1998, remember that?

By the next election cycle Proposition 204 sealed their fate- as what was sold- was not what was written in the bill, just as the Obama administration is doing now.

This is an excellent article that clearly lays out what awaits America with the Trojan Horse called the Public Option!

Anatomy of a Trojan Horse

If you think by some miracle that Obamacare actually has a chance of bringing any of the improvements promised, take a look at reality, than get out there and help stop this before it is too late!

Obamacare murders patient choice regardless of name they use

The month of August 2009 is a critical one to the American people.
Regardless of Pelosi or Obamas rhetoric about who the villain is in stopping them, the American people need to step up our opposition while the legislators grace us with their presence!
Regardless of the name they apply to their “plan” it is going to mean economic disaster and long term misery  to Americans.

I have reprinted Senator Demint’s email below from the Senate Conservative Fund

Co-ops = Public Option = Single Payer

Knowing that Americans would reject the idea of a “single payer” government health care system, Democrats began calling their plan a “public option.” Now that Americans have rejected that idea too, Democrats are peddling another proposal called health care “cooperatives.”

Unfortunately, these federally-backed co-ops are nothing more than a public option by another name. Washington will set up and subsidize them so private health plans are squeezed out of the marketplace. Then, like Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the costs will catch up with these government-sponsored entities and Congress will tell us they are “too big to fail” and must be nationalized.

Some Democrats are willing to admit that co-ops are the same as a public option. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) said earlier this month that, “We’re going to have some type of public option, call it ‘co-op,’ call it what you want.”

Some Democrats are also willing to admit that the public option is the same as a single payer system. Congressman Barney Frank (D-MA) said this week that, “I think if we get a good public option it could lead to single payer, and that’s the best way to reach single payer.”

It’s becoming clear that no matter what name Democrats put on it, all of their ideas lead to a government takeover of our health care.

The latest government bailout

This week, the Senate moved beyond bailing out industries that it has driven into the ground to bailing out its own programs that it has failed to manage.

Proving once again that the federal government is incapable of managing the federal highway system, the Senate passed $7 billion to shore up the failing program. The bill also provides $7.5 billion to bail out the failing unemployment insurance program and $185 billion to bail out several government-managed home-ownership programs.

Only 17 Republicans had the courage to vote against this rip-off. Click here to see how your Senators voted.

Question: If the government cannot manage these programs, what makes anyone think it can manage our health care?

Media “Lapdog Act” continues with Health Care Reporting!

Obamas poll numbers are actually below what George W. Bush had at the same stage of his presidency.

This is incredible, as the media has done everything they can to promote both the man and his policies since he became the presumptive Democrat nominee last year, something never afforded to Bush by a long shot!

Fortunately we have actual facts reported by others like Brent Bozell, President of the Media Research Center.

Brett knows what media should be doing and what they should not be doing, and when it comes to reporting on most anything involving the liberal agenda you can pretty much take it to the bank that they (the media) will not be doing their job!

Alexandria, VA – Media Research Center President Brent Bozell today called on the media to stop reporting on the American health care system as a “crisis” situation.  The facts simply belie the claim.

A poll conducted by the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and Zogby International ( finds that 84 percent of Americans, including 46 percent of Americans without health care insurance, are “very satisfied” or “satisfied” with the health care they currently receive.

Released on Wednesday, the poll was glaringly absent from most news reports late last week and over the weekend.

MRC President Brent Bozell:

“The media need to stop acting like arsonists when it comes to their reporting on the U.S. health care system, starting a fire and then suggesting to put it out the government takeover of 1/5th of our economy.

“There is no health care crisis.  The American people are overwhelmingly satisfied with the health care they currently receive.  The media should report this instead of helping incite for the socialist solution – the government making our most vital life and death health decisions.

“The real crisis here is the crisis of confidence that the American people have in the media.  The press need to stop creating calamities where there are none, and instead do what they are charged with doing – reporting the facts.” – The Media Research Center

Stalkers, and Stars Align with Mythology

I love it when someone of the liberal ilk calls in to one of the talk radio shows and pretends to be all so knowledgeable and learned compared to the unwashed masses of ignorant right wingers.  Today I listened as some arogant man, I have heard plenty of times, call in to Sean Hannity who is known as “Mike The Stalker”.

You could just hear the discust and disdain dripping like drool from a rabid canine as he describe the tea party movement participants as ignorant “Teabaggers” over and over with each successive reference seemingly so unpalpable to him that one actually expected the unmistakeable sound of a wretching vomit to follow.

This is how it goes with the vast majority of these libs–They always have a name to call us, always are condescending, sarcastic, and have an irrational belief that they alone are capable of discerning the truth, which means in essence believing in the same ideology as them is smart, and everything else is dumber than dirt.

Mark Levin probably knows more about the Constitution in his little toenail than “Mike the Stalker’ ever will. The list of people advocating the conservative thought is filled with some very impressive people holding some very impressive academic credentials, and most of my favorites hold Phd’s.

Michelle Malkin is a big thorn to the libs tender sides also.  She links to great articles constantly.  I have come to the conclusion that she is of another world because she can put out so much information, so fast, from so many resources and link to it all, and reference what it all says and means, while still being a wife and mother.

One of those links she provided in the last few days  Health Care Mythology by Clifford S. Asness, Ph.D.was an invaluable read as a lead up to Obama’s failed presser today, and the author has a great name for his blog, Stumbling on Truth.

What I witnessed today was Obama stumbling all over his lies and promoting an unworkable solution for our future.

He had no real answer for the rush, which he, and everyone else already knew. Basically the “stars were aligned” to make it happen. He would not admit the costs, the sacrifices he is expecting us all to make, or the likeliness of the inevitable results of this change to our health care from a mostly private to an all government run system, and he lied poorly while trying to perpetuate the myths regarding health care.

Mike the Stalker probably thought he was brilliant today.

Me, being a mere “Teabagger”, an ignoramus, in Mike’s worldview, saw a man bound and determined to punish success in this country, and saw that the stars were aligned to do so with another crisis manufactured to do just that!

Health Reform: Debate over “How?”

The Health Care reform debate is shaping up to be a contentious one, again.  On one side you have the Obama administration and his push to bring some form of a socialized national health care,  on the other you have the people that believe free enterprise will provide needed reforms if given a chance to do so.

While Washington fights over philosophies we take  a look at the local debate.

The debate over whether or not reform is even needed seems to be stipulated…it is widely agreed upon  reforms are needed,  due to the increasingly high cost of care and also many other factors.

So once again the real debate is over the “how”  to achieve reform that works.

Nearly half of the industry is already controlled by government, and it is certainly not the efficient half of the system  of the two!

Personally, I am on the side of  vigorous “free market competition“, and some common sense tort reforms to allow doctors some protection against the constant lawsuit threat due to astronomical awards given (even in settling baseless claims) for malpractice.

Of course the “entitlement side” that Obama represents is adamantly opposed to both these concepts.

The ever present “fairness” label is being applied once again as the left tries to assert that equal care for one and all is “a right“,  which of course it isn’t!

A fellow tea party member of several local and national groups,  Tawnya recently brought to my attention a good debate being waged in the “letters to the editor” pages of the Monroe Monitor over the last couple of weeks.

Obama is using his alliance with a  compliant media to help push his vision for us on this debate-his vision is clear-he wants national government control.

Meanwhile the regular folks are fighting back, as they realize if they don’t nobody else will, and this is too important to the welfare and well-being of ourselves and families!

We want our freedom, and individual control over our decisions, especially our health!

Two of my children were delivered by a doctor that no longer delivers babies after government controls at the state level drove out the insurance companies and drove up malpractice insurance rates.  Many of those government control decisions had to be altered and reversed,  insurance “reform” had created a crisis–the  shortage of OB/GYN doctors!

Tawnya noticed how the media was using “heart touching stories” to promote Obamas vision, she had one of her own,  so when a similar story appeared in her local paper she wrote in response.  I think the editor of this paper is getting slammed with letters at this pont, but Tawnya was still able to get  her letter in response published.  Tawnya’s  story is as heart touching as the original with a much different perspective on a similar story.

Reading the various responses to the editor is actually very educational, and one thing is very clear to me.  There is no consensus, and this debate is very far from over!

Original article (pdf) and responses (pdf)- here Tawnya’s  letter here and  here

They seemed to get away with the “debate is over” and “there is consensus” about the global warming hoax but that will not happen with the health care reform debate- if we step up and be heard, like Tawnya has done!

Excerpt from Tawnya’s letter–

I too have had a friend with cancer fly from Alaska to Seattle to have treatments. I’ve had my heart break watching what she was going through as she struggles to survive and raise her little girl on her own.  Unfortunately she could not afford to make many trips from Alaska. My friend ended up having to swallow her pride, which was not an easy thing to do, and ask for assistance. It is what she chose to do to survive. I don’t feel the need to give a blow by blow of her daily life and struggles to pull at your heartstrings to sway your opinion, but I would like to give some food for thought. I’m sure we all have stories that would touch each other on an emotional level that we could pass back and forth for days.  It all comes down to individual choice.  The one thing in this world that is truly mine is my body.  My body, My choice, I would like to keep it that way. One size doesn’t fit all. I don’t want rationed healthcare where government dictates what medical service I can or can’t have. That should be left between my doctor and me.

National Health Care

The Health Care “facts” we hear these days are really just selling points in the big push to nationalize our health industries.

The media isn’t going to dispute Washington’s or Obama’s claims about either the numbers or actual state of our health care issues,  so it is up to us to seek the truth in other places.

The authors of the book Your Health Matters ( Greg Dattilo and Dave Racer)[Alethos Press, St. Paul, Mn] drill down into these complicated issues surrounding health care reform.

The “facts” we hear so often- are often just plain wrong, and these authors refute many of them while advocating for free market solutions to the health care issues.

This appears to be great information on countering the arguments made by the socialist attempting to impose on us  European socialism via our health care!
